Visas for the UK

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT VISAS

A further modernisation of the visa service offered to customers applying for visas at the British Embassy Santiago has taken  place on 23 October 2008.

From 23 October, all United Kingdom applications are processed by the British Consulate General New York under our new “Hub and Spoke” arrangement.

Applicants will continue to lodge their applications on-line and arrange an appointment at the British Embassy Santiago to deposit their paper copy of their application form, passport, supporting documents and to have their fingerscans taken. From 23 October, each applicant should present their application form, passport, original supporting documents with copies, along, where possible, with English translations. Documents will then be forwarded to a new dedicated regional visa centre at the British Consulate General New York, where the application will be processed and a decision taken. Once the decision has been taken on whether a visa should be issued, an applicant's passport and documents will be returned to the British Embassy Santiago for collection by the applicant. There is a charge for using the phone service, but information from the website and by email is free of charge.

Where can I get advice?
WorldBridge and its staff cannot give you advice on how to complete your application, or what type of visa you should apply for.   If you need help with your application or advice about the UK's immigration rules and requirements, you should seek advice from a qualified immigration adviser. Institute of Legal Executives

How do I submit my application?
You should submit your application through our online application service  at the Visa Section of the British Embassy; payment must be made online by credit card.  Applicants then need to visit the British Embassy in Santiago to deposit their paper copy of their application form, passport, supporting documents, and to have their fingerscans taken.

Who decides whether I will get a visa?
UK Border Agency staff will process and decide your visa application. WorldBridge and its staff play no part in the outcome of your visa application.
